Lectures and seminars

The lectures and seminars offered by academics working in the context of Philosophy of Education seek to spark systematic, theory-led and critical student engagement with basic concepts of education, educational processes, structural factors in education systems, and the modes and politics of knowledge driving education studies as an academic discipline. In our seminars, we aim to enable students to reflect on different kinds of ‘educational thinking’ and consider educational theories and modes of ‘doing theory’ in education. We encourage them to take a critical approach to the conditions in which professional thought and action takes place today. Students also gain insights into current topics of research and learn about praxeological discourse analysis.
