Philosophy of Education

The research unit of Philosophy of Education is dedicated to exploring fundamental questions and issues of essential character within the discipline of educational studies and its sub-fields. As well as reflecting on the historical, philosophical, political and ethical implications arising from the history of educational thought, of its discourses, terminologies and hegemonies, we focus on the critique and analysis of the relationship between the theoretical and the empirical within the discipline. We seek to observe the conditions that enable education and the categories via which academic study approaches it.
